A Back Yard Farm

Vermicomposting

by jennifer.

If you don't have the yard for an outdoor compost, it is possible to make one that can easily fit in a closet, garage, or pantry. Instead of sending your food scraps down the disposal or the garbage, you can turn your food scraps into compost.

Indoor composting is known as Vermicomposting and uses a specific kind of worm known as red wrigglers. These worms eat half of their weight in food each day and produce an organic matter rich in nutrients.

Take a look at this video to learn how to make your own Vermicompost bin.
