As I sit here and ponder about winter, I am often amazed at how much I am drawn to this season.  Even in the beginning of March when most folks are ready for it to leave.  I am so grateful for the cleansing my garden soil has received from this icy cold blast, removing and blasting away all those nasty elements which will harm my plants.  I am grateful for this abundant snow cover which will keep my plants and soil from the pattern of freezing and thawing which is never healthy for productive plants.  Am I looking forward to the snow melt, flowing rivers, and green vistas on my horizon?  You bet, but I will always be thankful for that which has come before...the dormant, creative, healing and cleansing power of winter
